It is a monument of 38 m. of height, built in brick as tribute of founders of the Ibarra city, this monument marks the beginning of Mariano Acosta avenue and is located next to the railway station.

The Obelisk of Ibarra is a monument built in Alejandro Pasquel Monge Plaza. The obelisk was inaugurated in 1951 by Alfonso Almeida - Mayor of Ibarra - as a symbol of the past and future of the community.
