It is a volcanic structure, located southwest of the Imbabura Volcanic Complex at 3,926 m.a.s.l. It was formed by the deposits of stones blocks and ash flows.
The volcanic activity of Huarmi Imbabura was characterized by explosive eruptions at the beginning, and later by passive emissions of lava domes.
