Ibarra geosite - volcanic edifice
Stratovolcano located at 3,802 m.a.s.l., with a basal diameter of 8 km and a relief of 1000 m. It is formed by several basic andesitic to acid andesite andesite lava flows. Morphologically, an amphitheater left by the sectorial collapse of its northern flank is recognized, within which a new volcanic cone was formed.
On the eastern flank of Cerro Cubilche, at a distance of 2.5 km, you can see the satellite cone Loma Pangaladera (3430 masl) formed by several lava flows and their associated pyroclastic products. Continuing eastward is Loma Cunrru (3305 masl) which corresponds to a sequence of young and viscous lava.
