The Kary Wayku River is located in the La Rinconada commune to the southeast of Ibarra, it is formed from the foothills of the commune to the Tahuando River, joining the streams formed by the Condor Yaku and Kuchu Fakcha waterfalls, among other springs. It crosses the commune dividing it into two sectors where two types of soils can be identified: dry clay (taraska) and silty (chumayru). Recreational activities and sport fishing can be done in the upper part of the river.
To enter the river, you must request authorization from the community representative or contact the Rinconada community tourism group.
