It all started in the 1970s, when the great influx of young adventurers from all over the world gave way to a worldwide increase in tourism.
Those tourists were attracted by the natural beauty of the area, and by its imposing mountains (Cubilche, Imbabura, Loma Alta, etc), but there was no place where they could get attention, except for the House of "Aida Buitrón", a very kind and friendly woman, who came from Quito where she worked as a hostess for some time, looking for the most peaceful and far away place in the south east of Ibarra.
