Historical review of Ibarra

San Miguel de Ibarra is the capital of the province of Imbabura, known as the White City to which people always return for its picturesque countryside, summer climate and proximity to other important tourist and commercial centers.

It was founded by the Spanish captain Cristobal de Troya, on September 28, 1606, by order of the Marquis Miguel de Ibarra.
