traditional fruit syrup
The arrope is sold and tasted in the northeastern of the dowtown area. It is made from fruits such as blackberry, strawberry, grapefruit, passion fruit, sugar or panela, water, and citric acid or lemon juice. After a cooking process, a syrup is obtained in the form of liquid jam, which is then stored in glass bottles.
Syrup is a gastronomic icon of Ibarra with more than one hundred years of tradition, whose preparation has been passed down from generation to generation.
