The caldo de gallina is the typical and traditional dish of this parish. The inhabitants have been preparing it for several years and it is part of the daily gastronomy, with the opening of the Ibarra - San Lorenzo road the demand increased.

At the entrance to the parish of Lita there are several stands where this soup is sold. The chicken broth is prepared with free-range chickens and accompanied with picadillo and yucca that are produced in the area.
