In the San Miguel de Yahuarcocha neighborhood, located northwest of downtown Ibarra, the tilapia is one of the gastronomic attractions of this sector. For more than 35 years, the families of this village prepare tilapia baked or fried, accompanied by cooked potatoes, pickles and lemon; also the chicken broth, chochos with toast, empanadas stuffed with cheese and banana, are other alternatives that visitors have to choose from.
