urban legend
A very old legend tells that in the north of the country, in the province of Imbabura, there lived three witch sisters; but they were quite attractive and dressed in white, unlike the horrible witches.
They traveled from place to place, carrying news or practicing strange rituals.
The population was used to see them at night in the sky of Ibarra, but the youngest ones were doing tricks to disturb them.
Many men would lie down on the ground in the shape of a cross and the witches would fall, which annoyed the witches. As a result of their anger, the witches would turn them into roosters, donkeys or black hairy pigs, but the spell lasted only a few days.
Some used these spells as a pretext to disappear from their homes and stay drinking with their friends.
Now with luck, if we look at the sky on a moonlit night it is possible to see a witch returning from the south and passing by the small Ceibo tree in Pedro Moncayo Park.
